A student studying at Penn State Brandywine, Hayley Ninnis is working toward certification as a yoga instructor. In this capacity, Hayley Ninnis helps individuals with medical conditions benefit through yoga on both a physical and an emotional and spiritual level. 1. Physical - The most obvious way that yoga helps your body is through the physical relief it can provide. Yoga poses stretch out your body and can relieve muscle aches and other pains associated with your medical condition. Other poses help build muscle strength, improving your body’s overall fitness. 2. Emotional and Spiritual - Yoga also has an intense mental and emotional focus. By practicing yoga, you can clear your mind and remove yourself from the stresses of your life. Allowing yourself this sort of relief can be especially beneficial when undergoing treatment for a serious medical condition, as the resulting peace can put your mind at ease and help you to remain positive.

Hayley Ninnis earned her associate degree in psychology at Delaware County Community College, and in 2014 she began a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Penn State University. When she is not studying, Hayley Ninnis spends her free time on a diverse range of hobbies, including decorating cakes. Cake decorating has been around since the 17th century and continues to evolve. While nowadays there are many different techniques to decorate cakes, including the use of LED lights and photo printers, beginners can still use simple household materials and ingredients. For those who want to try their hand at cake decorating, here are some tips to make the designs more beautiful: 1. Use a plastic cookie cutter as a cake topper. Fill it with sprinkles to make it more colorful. 2. Place a piece of lace on top of the cake, and sprinkle some powdered sugar over it to create different patterns. 3. Mix Jell-O and frosting to create unique, vibrant colors for your cake. 4. Perfect the design by applying frosting on wax paper first. Let it harden, peel it, and place it on top of the cake. 5. Create faux-fondant icing to decorate cakes in minutes. Microwave store-bought icing, and pour it over the cake. Refrigerate the cake. |
